Vista Chamber’s Alma Gutierrez Recognized During Hispanic Heritage Month

The Vista Chamber of Commerce is proud to celebrate team member Alma Gutierrez, who recently accepted a proclamation from the City of Vista declaring September 15 through October 15 as Hispanic Heritage Month.

The proclamation recognizes the rich history, culture, traditions, and contributions of the Hispanic and Latino community in Vista and across the country. Alma was invited to accept the proclamation in recognition of her work helping strengthen connections between the Chamber, Vista’s Latino business community, and the community at large.

As the Chamber’s Marketing & Communications Coordinator, Alma leads the Latino Business Outreach Committee, an initiative focused on connecting Latino-owned businesses with resources, educational opportunities, networking, and the broader Vista business community.

One of the committee’s signature efforts is Vista’s Fiestas Patrias, an annual Hispanic Heritage Month celebration organized by the Vista Chamber of Commerce. Alma has played a leading role in organizing the event and bringing together local businesses, community organizations, performers, vendors, and residents for a celebration of Hispanic culture and traditions.

Fiestas Patrias has become an opportunity for the community to gather and celebrate through live music, folklórico performances, local vendors, family-friendly activities, cultural traditions, and the El Grito de Independencia ceremony.

For Alma, accepting the proclamation was especially meaningful because it represents more than one event. It reflects the Chamber’s continued commitment to making sure Vista’s diverse business community feels welcomed, represented, and connected.

The Vista Chamber is proud of Alma’s leadership and grateful to the City of Vista for recognizing Hispanic Heritage Month and the many individuals, businesses, and organizations that contribute to Vista’s vibrant Hispanic and Latino community.

As Hispanic Heritage Month continues, we encourage our community to celebrate by supporting local Latino-owned businesses, learning more about the cultures and traditions represented throughout Vista, and continuing to build connections that strengthen our community year-round.
